Yummy Food & Bartering
Jambo!
Today we went our separate ways. Cyndi spent the day with Lorna, one of the Nairobi missionaries we've been working with. They went to Lorna's home, went shopping in her neighborhood, and fixed lunch which they shared with neighbors. Along with great fun they discussed Lorna's ministry with refugees and her outreach to her neighbors.
The rest of the Kenya Dig-its spent the day with Dotun, the Nairobi team leader. First we enjoyed all kinds of exotic grilled meats at a restaurant called Carnivore. Most agreed that the ostrich meat was their favorite - tender and tasty! While there we met some old friends of the Colliers who have been working in Nairobi the past 5 years with World Vision and also with Opportunity, a micro-enterprise organization.
Then it was on to the Masai Market, where we all had the opportunity to participate in the bartering system of buying handmade Masai products. Some of us did better than others. :)
